  • Netflix’s “Nobody Wants This” returned this week for season 2 with Kristen Bell and Adam Brody.
  • Season 2 features guest stars like Seth Rogen and Brody’s wife Leighton Meester.
  • Bell told Parade that the writers are already working on season 3.

Everybody is excited that the hit Netflix rom-com series “Nobody Wants This” is back for a second season.

The series, starring Kristen Bell as Joanne, a podcaster who falls for Noah, a rabbi played by Adam Brody, became a sensation when it premiered last September on the streaming giant.

Season two, out now, follows the couple after the initial honeymoon phase, as they confront the practical realities of being an interfaith couple. As with any will-they-won’t they relationship, the season finale ending (light spoiler alert!) leaves Joanne and Noah’s future as a couple in jeopardy.

So will there be a season three of “Nobody Wants This”? Netflix hasn’t yet renewed the series, but it’s looking promising. Here’s everything we know.

‘Nobody Wants This’ season 3 is all but confirmed

While there hasn’t been any official confirmation that the rom-com series will return for another season, the outlook is promising so far.

Bell told Parade that a third season is being written, but didn’t comment on a renewal.

“The writer’s room is working right now,” she said. “You never know if you’re gonna be able to shoot because that’s way above our pay grade, and they decide what shows are gonna be shot. But the writer’s room is writing it right now. That we know.”

A longer story on the series’ path to success in The Hollywood Reporter echoed the sentiment, claiming “the writers are back in the room, blue-skying a not-yet-officially-ordered third season.”

Creator Erin Foster has been thinking about a third season of ‘Nobody Wants This’ for a while

The show’s creator, Erin Foster, envisioned “Nobody Wants This” as a multi-season show from the start, revealing to Entertainment Weekly before the season one premiere that she had always imagined it having at least three seasons.

“I got plans for Joanne,” she said.

In fact, if there is another season, we might just see Foster on screen.

Foster told People in April that she isn’t against having a cameo on the show, especially since the series is loosely based on her own life and relationship.

“I always thought that it’d be fun to do that, but I never created a character that I thought was the perfect character,” she said.

“Maybe season 3, Morgan and Joanne go on sabbatical, and then it’s us,” Foster’s sister Sara, who’s one of the show’s executive producers, suggested, referring to Justine Lupe and Bell’s characters on the show, who are sisters who host a podcast called “Nobody Wants This.”

“Oh, we just replace them,” Erin replied.
