BE@RBRICK, a music-driven, CG-animated comedy series based on the collectible figures from Medicom Toy, is premiering globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, March 21. Timbaland, the Billboard chart-topping and Grammy Award-winning producer, is executive music producer on the show, which is produced and animated by DreamWorks Animation and Dentsu Inc.
Featuring original songs, the series follows protagonist Jasmine Finch and her bandmates chasing their dreams, and aims to empower kids and families to embrace their true selves.
“Bringing BE@RBRICK to life with DreamWorks Animation has been an incredible journey,” Timbaland tells Billboard Family. “As executive music producer, I wanted to craft a sound that elevates the storytelling, making every moment feel immersive and unforgettable. I can’t wait for audiences to experience the magic we’ve created when it debuts on Apple TV+ this March.”
The series is described as follows in a press release from Apple TV+: “BE@RBRICK follows Jasmine Finch and her bandmates as they pursue their dreams and inspire others to do the same. But it won’t be easy to do when living in a world where everyone’s role is chosen for them and where the painted-on look you receive when you graduate from high school determines who you’ll be for the rest of your life. Jasmine realizes that in order for her world to change, she and her friends will have to make it happen themselves.”
BE@RBRICK was developed by Meghan McCarthy (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Centaurworld), showrunner, executive producer and writer. Alex Almaguer (TrollsTopia) serves as supervising producer, Taylor Orci (Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts) as story editor and Athena Hofmann (Amateur) as line producer. Alongside executive music producer Timbaland is an original score by Jina Hyojin An (XO, Kitty) and Shirley Song (Exploding Kittens).
The show’s voice cast includes Brianna Bryan as Jasmine, Skyla I’Lece as Holly, Isaiah Crews as Nick, Alison Jaye as Ada and Noah Bentley as Klaus.
Apple TV+ and DreamWorks have previously collaborated on the animated series CURSES!, Pinecone & Pony and Doug Unplugs.
