The best and worst looks worn on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway this year

  • Victoria’s Secret held its annual lingerie fashion show on Wednesday night.
  • The brand’s most famous models, like Candice Swanepoel and Adriana Lima, returned to the runway.
  • Some outfits stood out with wings and crystal embellishments; others were too simple for the event.

Victoria’s Secret is crawling its way to a comeback.

The brand won over Gen Z stars like Sabrina Carpenter last year and expanded this year into new categories like home fragrance. The company also reported that comparable sales were up 4% in the second quarter.

Plus, 2025 marks the second year in a row that the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is back in action.

On Wednesday night in New York City, models including Adriana Lima, Bella Hadid, and Jasmine Tookes returned to strut the stage in the latest Victoria’s Secret designs.

Here’s what stood out on the runway, and what missed the mark.

Jasmine Tookes kicked off the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in one of the night’s best runway looks.

Tookes, who is pregnant with her second child, opened the show in a pearl-embellished slip.

The netted design sat atop her satin undergarments, which perfectly matched the model’s skintone — creating the illusion that she was wearing nothing beneath the top layer.

She also wore sparkling heels and carried a shell-shaped adornment across her back.

Gigi Hadid’s pink ensemble was unfortunately outdated.

The Victoria’s Secret pro stepped onstage wearing a massive cape covered in pink petals, a neon-pink bustier top, and matching boy shorts.

The outer layer was fun, and its vibrant color looked stunning on Hadid.

However, the outfit’s base didn’t bring anything new to the runway. It almost looked like it came straight from the 2011 Victoria’s Secret runway.

Imaan Hammam modeled an edgy ensemble, and it worked for her.

The Dutch model strutted the runway in a black, fringe-covered bra and matching underwear, both of which complemented her statement angel wings.

Sparkling pink bows were also attached to each strap to contrast the lingerie’s dark colorway and add a feminine touch.

Her look was completed with classic sandals and pink jewel earrings.

Summer Dirx wore an outfit that didn’t make much sense.

During the Pink portion of the show, Dirx arrived onstage wearing an outfit that was more fashion-forward than lingerie-focused.

That said, there was too much going on with the look.

A graphic T-shirt was worn loosely beneath a fuzzy, cropped shawl, and her dark-wash jeans just barely revealed Pink underwear underneath them.

The outfit might have worked better if only one of the two tops had been worn with jeans that were more distinctively low-rise.

Candice Swanepoel looked ethereal in bronze wings.

The South African supermodel arrived onstage wearing a brown, lace lingerie set and bronze angel wings.

Though the undergarments were standouts on their own, Swanepoel’s accessories brought the runway look to another level.

She wore layers of strung crystals and beads over her chest, sparkling hoop earrings in silver, and sheer thigh-highs embellished with crystals across each foot.

Barbie Ferreira deserved a more fun runway look.

The actor made her Victoria’s Secret debut in simple red undergarments and an oversize denim jacket with fabric wings attached at the back.

The outfit was fun, sure, but it was also overly simple.

A more detailed lingerie set, like one covered in crystals, could have made the outfit more memorable.

Angel Reese was more than ready to have her Victoria’s Secret moment.

The pro basketball player modeled two outfits during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, one of which was a standout floral number.

It included a white lace bra, underwear, and a garter belt decorated with peony and rose appliqués.

Reese also carried a pink-tinted shawl that was fuzzy and embellished with more florals across her arms.

Adriana Lima’s nude bodysuit looked like it was missing something.

Lima, a Brazilian supermodel, is undoubtedly an icon of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

You wouldn’t know that, though, just by looking at the nude outfit she wore on the 2025 runway. The simple set included tan lingerie, a sheer bodysuit lightly covered in crystals, and thin bronze wings.

A flashier bodysuit and bigger wings would have better complemented the runway legend.

Anok Yai modeled a simple yet striking look.

You couldn’t miss Yai as she appeared on the runway.

She wore a simple black lingerie set beneath a netted shawl crafted entirely from crystals.

The sparkling piece matched her crystal garter belt, statement earrings, and silver sandals, which she wore with thigh-high socks.

Bella Hadid seemingly brought out her alter ego.

When the younger Hadid sister stepped onto the runway, she sported a red satin bra, high-cut underwear, a garter belt that held up her red thigh-highs, and a matching robe.

The striking ensemble was reminiscent of the famous red gown Hadid wore at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, which she later said was “the start of the ‘Bella’ persona that everyone sees of me.”

“That’s my alter ego. That’s Belinda,” she told Vogue about the outfit in 2021. “I’m just so the opposite of her. She’s very va-va-voom. You know, bless her. Love her. She was very nervous.”
