Whilst everyone has their eyes on Mega Evolution / Phantasmal Flames and paying over the odds for new sealed product, I’m hunting down Black Bolt and White Flare deals on both sealed and single cards. Why? Because it’s a fantastic set that brings a satisfying close to the Scarlet and Violet era of Pokémon TCG.

Every Unovan Pokémon from Black and White 1 and 2 either has an Illustration Rare, Special Illustration Rare, or an ever-illusive Black White Rare. This is such a lovely set to collect and build decks with, and it makes me wish there was more Illustration Rares in every set. Just imagine taking your 10 year old-self from the Wizards of the Coast days, battling in Pokémon Leagues in Warner Brothers stores and showed them any of the modern cards. They’d blow your fragile mind.

Elite Trainer Boxes are awesome for their extras as well as booster packs. In this one, you’ll get a Thundurus 209 Illustration Rare promo card, 65 Black Bolt-Themed sleeves, themed dice, eight booster packs, and the ETB box complete with dividers to keep on top of your collection.

This is still an expensive set, so the chances of actually pulling a hefty chase card is very low when you think about all of the Illustration Rare cards. It’s often cheaper to grab the chase card you want as a single card rather than spending endless amounts on sealed product hoping for the best. Here’s the top chase cards in Black Bolt and White Flare you can buy right now:
