Good Boys dog, Indy, and filmmakers play Choose Your Squad

From the moment audiences got a glimpse Good Boy’s trailer, its leading dog Indy was a star! Online searches for “Does the dog in Good Boy die?” surged as dog-lovers and movie-lovers braced for the film that had Mashable’s team raving out of its SXSW premiere.

In her review, Mashable Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko cheered the terrific performance of Indy and the incredible filmmaking that married collaborators Ben Leonberg and Kari Fischer created to make their haunted house tale come to life from the perspective of a dog. So, she was elated to welcome Ben, Kari, and Indy into our Say More studio to talk about Good Boy and the films and dogs who inspired it.

Naturally, that meant a new round of Choose Your Squad. Presented with an array of famous canines from cinema, including Buddy from Air Bud, Bruiser from Legally Blonde, and E. Buzz from Poltergeist, the Good Boy team was asked to assemble a dream team of dogs who could aid Indy should he have to battle more ghosts in a sequel.

On top of imagining what cool canine cinema could come next for their beloved Indy, Ben and Kari also shared the influences on their film and some fun facts about how dogs in movies have shaped our home lives.
