Podcaster Theo Von tells DHS to take down a video celebrating deportations that features a clip of him

Von said that his views on immigration are “more nuanced than this video allows.”

  • The Department of Homeland Security featured a clip of Theo Von in one of their videos.
  • Now, he’s asking them to take it down — and to send him a check.
  • He also said his views on immigration are more “nuanced than this video allows.”

An otherwise MAGA-friendly podcaster and comedian isn’t comfortable with being featured in a Department of Homeland Security video.

“Yooo DHS i didnt approve to be used in this,” Theo Von wrote on X, responding to the video. “I know you know my address so send a check.”

“Please take this down and please keep me out of your ‘banger’ deportation videos,” Von continued. “When it comes to immigration my thoughts and heart are alot more nuanced than this video allows. Bye!”

The 31-second video, posted to X by the official DHS account on Tuesday evening, opens with a clip of Von shaking his head disapprovingly and saying, “I heard you got deported, dude. Bye!”

The video then proceeds to show various clips of people being deported, along with statistics about the number of people who have been deported by President Donald Trump’s administration so far.

Spokespeople for the Department of Homeland Security did not respond to a request for comment.

Von’s negative response to the DHS video is notable — he’s one of several influential podcasters who have been largely sympathetic to Trump and the MAGA movement, and he attended Trump’s inauguration in January.

Trump appeared on Von’s podcast before the 2024 election, and Vice President JD Vance has been on the show twice — once as a vice presidential candidate, and again in June, where he discussed Elon Musk’s feud with Trump.
